‘AURORAE’ is a cover by TRIPTKYON that I adapted to more of a scremo approach to reflect the anger and unresolution I held inside myself at the time.
When I first heard the song I automatically related to it but not in a positive way, it’s was more from a sense of an understanding of the vocalists deep sorrow and almost resentment towards the world.
It was the first song I ever rehearsed with a drummer and guitarist, and the first to include the help of a recording engineer (PIPER DAWES). This was the turning point for me in terms of understanding my full potential when I have more resources and willingful collaboration.
The song was originally an acoustic recording recorded solo in my bedroom with just myself and my piano. But I didn’t feel that gave the song enough credit. So I asked BLUEJAY and FADAN if they would like to collab on the track. I haven’t looked back since. The production of this song was definitely a pivotal point in how I approach music now.
