HALL OF HOLLOW SOULS: Explained
LOCK
Produced by CRCL & ICEYSLURKIN
Guitar- TAJ ABBOTT & ICEYSLURKIN
LOCK delves into the mind of myself as a child, and the difficulties of transitioning into adulthood whilst struggling with past trauma and mental health.
Being raised a Christian, it talks about coming to terms with understanding that there is good and bad in everything and everyone, trying to accept that, and forgive people for their wrong doings.
It also talks about self-imprisonment whilst withdrawing and eventually getting off drugs.
Yet also discussing how music was one of the only forms of comfort during dark times, for example being trapped in my bedroom with a lock from the outside. In these times, you go into yourself and reminisce on past times, or being elsewhere.
The final verse discusses how I can’t get my head around how I’m still alive after living such a damaging lifestyle for so long. The ending is quite morbid as I wrote this during a state of depression.
