HALL OF HOLLOW SOULS: Explained
MESSAGE
Produced by SSIIXX
‘MESSAGE’ discusses now being free from addiction, but also realising why I ended up like that in the first place (family history of addiction).
"I gotta see for them now…"
Talks about feeling like your now one of very few who can see clearly, and you want to help others, but people are on different levels and you can’t bring everyone with you. They have to do it in their own time, which can be very frustrating.
“In racist stix. You think it’s fun being this side of the coin? This side of the line, it ain’t fun. It’s harder than it looks.”
Discusses racial discrimination due to being mixed-race. As people don’t realise mixed-race is one of the most ostracised ethnicities worldwide. And at times it literally feels like no matter what side of the line you’re on, you’re never truly accepted by anyone.
The last verse discusses how sentimental objects hold importance/memories of times and stages in your life (e.g a gift from someone), but to ‘give a gift away’ is almost seen as an omen, resulting in you forgetting the lesson/message the person was trying to get through to you when they gave you the item.
