HALL OF HOLLOW SOULS: Explained
REMEMBER
Produced by SSIIXX
‘REMEMBER’ is a discussion with my past self before my addictions took a hold over my life. Before the MRI scans, when life was a lot more simple.
8 years ago I was granted a scholarship and was the first person in my family besides my mother to complete a degree at university. But along the way I got lost and fell into deep depression and addiction. But I didn’t let it get the best of me. It was extremely hard to complete uni, but I couldn’t fail even if it meant the death of me.
After I finished uni I was even more lost. As I didn’t know which path to go down or how to get to there. I was so isolated and also had the weight of ongoing neurology appointments because of my brain, whilst trying to cope with trauma and mental health on my own. I went through a time of homelessness and quit my job.
Until I decided to put my all into music, I really did feel like I had nothing left going for me. Music was literally the only thing holding me together at this point. It helped me to process the challenges and fears I was going through and couldn’t/didn’t feel like I could express to anyone at the time. Music became therapy for me and I would say it saved my life. It was either do music or die.
